The Young Brewmaster’s Adventure Season 1 – Anime Review & Story Introduction
The Young Brewmaster’s Adventure Season 1 takes audiences back to a vibrant era twenty years before the events of Shaonian Ge Xing, offering an origin story filled with youthful ambition, chance encounters, and the stirring of legendary destinies. At the center of it all is Baili Dongjun, the beloved grandson of Zhenxihou’s mansion. Despite being born into a family of unparalleled martial prowess—his father a peerless fighter and his mother the daughter of the Wen family head—Dongjun himself shows little talent for combat. Instead, his greatest passion lies in the art of brewing wine.
Ten years of dedication grant him the skills to craft the finest wine, yet his adventurous spirit drives him to steal a land deed from home and journey hundreds of miles to Chaisang City to open his own wine shop. There, among streets filled with powerful clans and dangerous rivals, Dongjun’s simple dream of making wine drags him into conflicts far larger than he ever intended.
Along the way, Dongjun encounters companions who will shape his journey: Sikong Changfeng, a wandering vagabond with no family but a free spirit, and Lei Mengsha, the son of Zhuo Mo from Tianqi City, whose loyalty drives him to rescue his trapped brother, Gu Jianmen of Lingyun. Together, they are bound by gratitude and friendship, stepping into a turbulent world where rivalries and alliances decide the fate of families and nations.
What makes this season especially captivating is how it introduces an era brimming with young talents, many of whom are destined to become legends. Figures such as Xie Xuan, the future Confucian Sword Immortal; Yan Zhantian, the Nujian Immortal; and Luo Qingyang, the Lone Sword Immortal are still unknown here, waiting for the encounters and conflicts that will one day carve their names into history.
With its blend of martial arts action, rich world-building, youthful camaraderie, and heartfelt storytelling, The Young Brewmaster’s Adventure explores not just battles of strength, but also the pursuit of dreams, the weight of heritage, and the value of friendship.
For fans of wuxia epics, origin stories, and tales of rising heroes, this season is both refreshing and nostalgic. As Baili Dongjun steps onto the chaotic stage of rivers and lakes, the question remains: will his love for wine and his unexpected courage carry him through the storms of Jianghu, and onto the path of becoming the number one in the world?
